Apple’s iOS 16 will solve one of the annoyances of the modern web. When it arrives this fall, a feature called Automatic verification will allow you to skip CAPTCHAs on certain websites or apps.
The best part? You won’t even see those boring grids or puzzle piece sliders when you reach the website. Everything will be done behind the scenes.
To do this, Apple worked with Cloudflare and Fastly, two of the major content delivery networks. It’s not limited to iOS 16, macOS Ventura is also going to get the CAPTCHA skip feature.
Once enabled, accessing any website that uses these two content delivery networks will get an automatic verification token from your iCloud. This means there is no CAPTCHA prompt, as your device will have already done the bot verification for you. Sweet.

Again, when you access a website configured for private access tokens, Apple’s system verifies that your device and Apple ID are in good standing, then sends the token to the site.
To enable automatic verification once your iPhone is on iOS 16
If you’re currently on the iOS 16 beta, automatic verification is enabled by default. We don’t know if that will be the case when public construction takes place this fall.
- Open the Settings app

- Press on your Apple ID

- Press on Password and Security

- Scroll down and toggle Automatic verification at ON

Apple isn’t the only company working on this type of verification. Google was also involved in the creation of this token-based system, according to Rapidlyso there is every chance it will come to Google Chrome or Android in the future.
Bypassing CAPTCHA for human users will greatly improve our Internet experience. Our concern is that it won’t be long before bot makers figure out how to add private access tokens to their bots. This will render this new hotfix essentially useless.
