Truecaller launches significantly improved iOS app

Truecaller, the world’s leading global communication platform, today launched a brand new version of its iOS app for users around the world. Traditionally, Truecaller has always worked much better on Android, but that will change now! The iOS app has been completely rewritten to be lighter (smaller app size), more efficient (runs faster, even on the old iPhone 6S) but most importantly, it offers 10x better spam, scam and identification of business calls compared to the old version of the application.

This change has been brought about by an all-new architecture that can more effectively take advantage of CallKit, Apple’s own technology framework designed specifically for calling applications. The app also features a comprehensive design refresh that may seem subtle at first, but often leads to much shorter times for initial onboarding as well as day-to-day in-app navigation.

“Truecaller on iOS has always been a challenge due to platform-specific restrictions and differences with Android,” said Alan Mamedi, co-founder and CEO of Truecaller. “Over the years we’ve worked hard to bring powerful features like call alerts, a dedicated widget and a search extension to iOS, but live caller ID has always eluded us – until We worked closely with Apple and realized that the only way to fix this problem for our iOS users was to throw out all the old code and completely rewrite the app. Many iOS users have been waiting for this update for a long time and I am delighted to finally be able to say that we have created the best performing spam/scam blocker for iOS.”
