Truth Social launches a web application accessible via computer

Fbut former President Donald Trump’s social network has arrived on the web.

Truth Social has launched the web application version of the social network, which will allow users to access the website on their computers. The app was previously only accessible on the Apple App Store.

The app’s launch comes two weeks before the “initially planned target date of May 31,” according to a press release issued Wednesday by Trump Media & Technology Group.

“At the end of May, we will launch PWA (web browser) which will allow access from any device,” CEO Devin Nunes wrote in a May 2 post on the platform. “After that, we’ll launch an Android app…pending Google’s approval!” It’s unclear when the Android app will be available, although Android users can access Truth Social through the web app in the meantime.

Trump favors Truth Social over all other competitors and will do so even if Elon Musk keeps his promise to reinstate his account when it acquired Twitter, the former president announced in a securities filing Monday.

Trump Media & Technology Group also announced other expansion plans, including “unawakened” entertainment offerings through TMTG+, a competitor to Netflix that will be “home to a wide variety of unscripted, scripted content. and originals”.

Truth Social saw around 6 million visits in its first week after launching in February, but suffered a massive drop in registrations due to technical issues. His waiting list was finally cleared in April. Musk’s plans to acquire Twitter reportedly increased interest in the new app, sending it to the top of Apple’s App Store downloads on April 27.
